A veces, las comparaciones son odiosas, terriblemente odiosas… Con motivo de los 1.000 Kilómetros de Nürburgring (1964), un flamante Ferrari 250-GTO V12/3.0 perteneciente a la «Ecurie Francorchamps» (Nº 75) y que conducirán los belgas Gustave «Taf» Gosselin y Francis van Lysbeth (se clasificarán 18 de la General y 4º en la Categoría de los GT 3.0) adelantan al curioso prototipo Deep Sanderson 301 BMC (Nº 112; han sustituido para la prueba alemana el motor de 1.000 c.c. por uno de 1.300 c.c. -80 CV/440 kilos-) conducido por los británicos Martyn H. Ryan y Max Wilson (habían quedado en el puesto 80º tras las sesiones de los entrenamientos -y no fueron los últimos-). Pero en carrera, en la vuelta 10, terminaba por accidentarse… Puro candor deportivo.
