Exhaustos, Vic Elford (anorak amarillo) y Kurt Ahrens (refrescándose) acaban de adjudicarse los 1.000 Kilómetros de Nürburgring (1970), prueba alemana valedera para el Campeonato del Mundo de Resistencia, sobre uno de los nuevos (pequeños gnomos terroríficos) Porsche 908/03, biplazas de 8 cilindros, 3.0 litros, inyección Bosch, 360 CV y 540 kilos ideales para el trazado germano. En Nürburgring se alineaban dos unidades para el equipo austríaco de la “Porsche-Salzburg” (los ganadores, más una segunda biplaza encomendada a Hans Herrmann-Richard Attwood, 2º de la General) más otras dos máquinas similares (las oficiales) pertenecientes a la “John Wyer Automolive Engineering” que acabarían retirándose: Jo Siffert-Brian Redman (presión de aceite) y Pedro Rodríguez-Leo Kinnunen (motor). Aunque en esencia, sin menoscabo, triunfo Porsche en el “Infierno Verde”.
